Privacy Policy

Last Updated: July 22, 2026

Section 1Overview

This Privacy Policy explains what information SELAS FEATURED ("we," "us," "our") collects when you apply to be featured, join a city waiting list, or otherwise use our website and social media pages (the "Service"), how we use it, and the choices you have.

SELAS is currently an early, invite-limited pilot. No company has been formally registered to operate it yet. This Policy will be updated to name a registered company, and existing applicants notified directly, once one exists.

Section 2Information We Collect

Information you provide directly. When you apply, we collect: your first and last name; your Instagram handle; your age; your general area (or, for waiting-list applicants, your city, state, and country); a short biographical statement; a description of your ideal weekend; your occupation and industry; and, optionally, a photograph.

We do not collect your email address or phone number at the application stage. If you're selected as a Member, we request contact information separately, directly from you, before your feature is published.

Information collected automatically. Like most websites, we automatically collect standard technical information when you visit: IP address, browser type, device information, general usage data. We use IP-level information specifically for fraud and spam prevention, including limiting repeated automated submissions, and for basic analytics.

Information from advertising platforms. If you arrive at our site from a social media ad, the advertising platform (for example, Meta) may share limited conversion information with us, such as whether your visit resulted in a completed application, through its standard advertising tools. See Section 8.

Section 3How We Use Information

We use the information we collect to:

We do not use your application information for unsolicited marketing beyond what's described here, and we do not use it for any compatibility-scoring or preference-matching purpose. This is consistent with our Terms of Service.

Section 4What We Publish vs. What We Keep Private

This is the section we most want you to trust, so here it is in plain terms.

Published, only if you're selected: a Feature identifier (a first name or assigned name, never your full legal name), your age, your general area, a short caption drawn from your bio and weekend description, and your photo, if you chose to provide one.

Never published, under any circumstance: your full legal name, your Instagram handle, your occupation, your industry, your exact address, or any application detail beyond what's listed above as published.

Section 5How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information.

We share information only with:

Section 6Your Choices and Rights

Access, correction, deletion. You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your application information at any time by contacting us. If you're a published Member, we'll remove your feature and associated content within 48 hours of a verified deletion request.

California residents. Under the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the CPRA, California residents have the right to know what personal information we've collected, request deletion, correct inaccuracies, and opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined by California law. Use our contact form to exercise these rights; we will not discriminate against you for doing so. (As a company below the CCPA's applicability thresholds, currently $26.625 million in annual revenue or processing 100,000+ California consumers' data annually, SELAS may not be legally required to comply with the CCPA yet. We're extending these rights as a matter of practice, and will monitor these thresholds as we grow, particularly given our Los Angeles expansion plans.)

Residents of other states. A growing number of states have comprehensive privacy laws with broadly similar rights. We extend the same access, correction, and deletion rights described above to all users, regardless of state, as a matter of practice.

Section 7Data Retention

We keep application information as long as reasonably necessary to evaluate it and, if applicable, maintain your Membership. Unselected applications are retained for up to 12 months, in case you reapply or a spot opens, then deleted, unless you ask us to delete them sooner.

Section 8Cookies and Advertising Technologies

Our website may use cookies and similar technologies, including advertising pixels (such as the Meta Pixel), for basic analytics and to measure ad performance. These tools may tell us that a visit resulted in a completed application, but they do not give us access to your Instagram account or private messages.

Section 9Data Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we can't guarantee absolute security.

Section 10Children's Privacy

The Service isn't directed to anyone under 18, and Featured Membership requires applicants to be at least 25. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 18; if we learn we have, we'll delete it promptly.

Section 11International Visitors

Today, SELAS operates only in the United States. If you submit a waiting-list application from outside the US, we collect only the limited information in Section 2 to notify you if SELAS becomes available in your area. We don't otherwise process your data under a specific international legal basis at this stage. If SELAS begins operating in your country, we'll update this Policy and add any rights required by local law (for example, under the GDPR for users in the European Economic Area) before doing so.

Section 12Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time, posting the revised version with a new "Last Updated" date.
